I just came aboard cfi in August i can report they bumped the pay, i have 6 plus years experience and making 51 cents/mile....plus extra pay for the northeast or running hazmat loads......i like it so far...beats dealing with reefer warehouses anyway....

    Hi Ultratowel!

Now I know where you went. How have you been? I see you are in Orlando and my wife and I spend October-May in Winter Haven before going back on the road in the 5th wheel for the summer months as per my avatar. Don't be a stranger. Good luck to you.

Navypopop, if you are traveling through E.Tn. There’s a campground at x36 on I-81 called Around the pond , it’s a couple blocks away from Davey Crockett TA , it’s pretty good,

    otismyman,

We do camp at Baileyton just down the road from Around The Pond at the KOA. It's very nice, real kept and the owners are real nice people. We always stop and eat at Davy Crocket TA too. Thanks for the reply.

Wait until they send you to Publix Heb Dollar General or Kroger. It'll be like a trip up memory lane.

    :)

My butt still hurts from waiting on that heb in temple. And I'm not even black! They make the black guys wait longer. (I got out Everytime before the black guy that would be ahead of me in line every single time)

I'm like how does that work? It's pretty bad when it happens so often you catch on to the pattern. Then you go "oh"
    That's ###.

    Trucker61016 Thanks this.

You're in the honeymoon phase of being there, give it some time. I was there for 7yrs got tired of all the sitting. Moved companies now with the recent pay raise I make .23cpm more then what I made at CFI doing the same job.

Sitting waiting for a load all the time is what really killed my miles, plus all the equipment issues I had with just about every trailer I picked up. I just had terrible luck. Them changing the dispatcher organization was my final nail in my coffin there. Only my main dispatcher could actually handle any of the stuff I needed to but I could never get a hold of him and had to talk to the others who insisted they could help but once they found out it was something only my main guy was cleared to do they let off but it was a major waste of time cause they never believed me the first time around when I said I actually needed to talk to my main dispatcher. Never felt like I could really count on my fleet team there sadly. Loved the overnight and weekend people though. They were always so understanding and helpful. Good support really makes your time on the road easier in my opinion.

I worked for Conway Truckload back in 2012. Man, I really struggled and I doubt if things are much better today, even with all the changes. Back then, I used to check on this forum under a different username (been on hiatus for a bit) and now after having been gone awhile, I’m amazed as to how many drivers have all bailed, as in everybody.... even all the diehard Conway supporters.

P.S...... Carg, you used to know me, but I ain’t tellin no more....
    Surf’s up Bro!
    Shhhh... no names....
