I worked for Con-way Truckload between August of 2010 and March of 2014. From what I was told when I started there. They needed to remove the CFI name off of all the trucks and the trailers. The trucks were easier to do. Since all they had to do was route you through Joplin. As for the T600 and T2000's. They to the best of my knowledge are all gone. As far as company trucks go. Some drivers bought the old trucks. So it is possible to still see them. They traded my T2000 in 2012 when I got a new 2012 Intl Prostar. For the most part they really didn't do the old KW's. They waited till they were up for lease turn in. There were dozens of unmarked T600's and T2000's in the back lot at Joplin.
The trailers were a whole other story. The deal was that were suppose to drop all CFI labeled trailers at Joplin to be relabeled. Any loaded trailers under a deadline would done once empty. When I left in March of 2014. There were still many many many CFI trailers that never got done. I can remember being at the Tractor Supply DC in Waco, Tx or Waverly, Ne. At any point there was probably 2 dozen empty CFI trailers and probably a dozen more loaded ones. At each of those locations. That is just one of the customers they had. There was also plenty at the various Michael's DC as well. So it stands to reason why there are so many that look original. The Con-way Truckload trailers were the ones that Con-way freight bought. That was before Con-way bought CFI. Con-way Freight tried a truckload division. It didn't do so well. Drivers were use to being home everyday. So that truckload division that they started. That is what CFI became.
I just looked up the DOT. It appears they are Contract Freighters Inc once again. I had checked a couple months or so ago and it still had Con-Way Truckload listed. I saw a couple CFI labeled trucks a couple months ago and thought I would look it up.
CFI is back in business, no longer owned by Conway
