Did a load from TX to OH and then KY. The Ohio delivery was Sunday at 7 am and the next drop was 370 miles away scheduled
for Tuesday at 4 pm. I called the receiver and asked if they had an earlier appointment. She said i can take you Monday at 9 am.
I said to her thats great see you then.. I arrive an hour early and they gave me my door. Submit the paperwork to CH and then sent me
a new conformation for 200.00 less beccause i arrived early..WHAT THE F***!!!!!!!..... I argue with CH and tell them in there was a problem
why did they give me an appt. They should of said no... after arguing with them they decided to be nice and only deduct me 100.00.. That is
the last load i do with them.

They should have paid you extra for the early del. Deducting anything is ridiculous. If the receiver didn't want it early, they would/should have said so....

Maybe try and talk with someone up the ladder from the broker at CH, if the rate con doesn't specifically state the penalty for delivering early, then there isn't one, period.

The rate con is the contract, they can't add to the terms after the fact, this is just the broker attempting to trim you.....

They probably added $200 to the rate BECAUSE you were scheduled to hold the load on your truck for an extra day. BUT, if the rate confirmation did not explicitly state that there was a penalty for early delivery, then they need to pay you the original rate.

In a case like this, would the company he delivered to, have received a rebate from the broker since the load was early?

    dgc and GITRDUN45 Thank this.

Totally unfair!!! So sorry to hear that DGC. Good example to try and find direct shippers yourself so you can avoid dealing with brokers. What a shame.

Some places would consider this a "work in/Non-appt" same as being late. Yes, even though they told you when to show it was not an official appointment.

Doesn't it have to be stated in contract?

Does this mean that a driver can be penalized for a late delivery, even if he is not the reason that the delivery was late?
