I find that hard to believe.Vernon had pretty much stepped away years before his death and his son Wendell had been running the show so nothing really changed after he passed away. I worked there in the 70's and 80's and most of the guys I worked with are still there or retired from Erb.Very few drivers and O/O's ever leave once they have been there for a while.

Only thing i can say about erb is they seem to need a lot of drivers they had a open house hiring event not too long ago with interviews on the spot .Makes you wonder why if they’re the place to be

I couldn't believe it either, esp when I was doing Reefer, and all those guys were actually happy with their jobs. Once those driver facing camera's hit, and they went to the Bison style safety harassment (Coaching they call it) it was over. The same thing is happening to any company who goes Camera's, my outfit doesn't even have driver facing or audio, only outward facing, but they switched to the Samsara ELDs, so you have to take pictures of everything constantly. I thankfully quit while I still had my omni tracks, but all my LCV buddies who switched to the Samsara lasted 1-2 months and done. IHaul lost half their O/O's in 2 weeks, when they went to Camera's, Bison actually stopped transitioning to Camera's I'm told, it was like a 90% quit rate after they installed them.

That was my line in the sand, so If I didn't stop now, I would have prob stopped when they pushed the Samsara on me.

kriska has outward cameras also i don’t mind it because it can save your ### especially driving around toronto getting cut off a million times a day . As long as you keep your distance from vehicle in front of you ,don’t go through red lights and what not you don’t have problems. Now driver facing i have a huge problem because let’s be honest we all do things like pick up our coffee and eat while driving

The problem with all this technology, is how it is administered. While yes the outward facing camera's are good for showing the insanity on the road, once they are integrated into the logs and "driver aids" on the trucks themselves, you become a slave to a set of rules and parameters that are impossible to follow on the "real roads". So then you just get harassed and docked safety bonus and then fired, without actually doing anything anyone with 0.02 cents of driving experience would consider "wrong".

Lets be real here, the hardwired stand alone Garmin Dash cams, were more than adequate, to show who was in the right or wrong with accidents. But that wasn't good enough. They want compliance, they want "coaching *harassment*", they want real time monitoring, they want to put the cheapest/stupidest people on the planet into trucks, and use technology to replace skill. Is it any surprise, all of this #### comes from California based companies?

Anyway, I'm glad to be done, but its going to suck being in Operations, and see this place fall apart like all the rest; courtesy of Samsara and the kids in Safety.

That is a dumb award. Drivers do not participate in the vote. Just the Comapanies.
