    Nope.

    None of that.

FFE sent us, (A married team) after a late solo and his very high value load in Jessup Md at the TA to grab it. And give him our empty)

Once in a blue moon a load like that is a excellent OPPORTUNITY. Million two in value? Qualcomm flooded with danger messages etc. Pffth, you all just gave us a golden key for the next employer who has billions in the needles and pills spilling out of the Memphis warehouse out back. pffth...

Turned out it went to McKesson in Memphis as fast as we could get it there. We were there later that night towards morning. After spending some time writing down the DOT MC Numbers of tractors that came to a particular spot to get bills for hooking loaded trailers, we were able to examine bills for company names and so on for later reference.

At some point in the future when our time with FFE came to a end we were remembered by a trucking company that does nothing BUT McKesson right here in Little Rock. And I say within 48 hours we were in a new T2000 with a fresh matress and so on transferring a medical trailer to Russelville then back to Memphis for a Detroit delivery.

Easy as pie. Nothing like brokers or any of that. We literally just showed up and they say there is truck, new matress, paperwork get going, yer late. As a team there is absolutely at that time NO delay in getting hired or orientation or any of that. Papers were finished in a hour. Everything else was done by lunch. Rolling by dinner with Detroit in mind for the morning. Busy busy busy. And we kept up that pace. Because when we got to detriot, they whisk the medicine off the trailer, throw cardboard bales on within 40 minutes to a hour at most and straight back to Memphis we went. No dispatchers needed. Our loaded trailer is waiting already at Memphis. Easy peasy hookie.

All that leads me to one conclusion only.

All of my trucking since 21 and even before then with family as cargo in the back of the B model dump... until that day in 2000 was a complete and utter waste of my time. When you find the right employer with the exact type of hauling you find motivating and without BS of live docking etc and is something the People needs every day its MOTIVATING. Life means something then.

Truckers haul jet engines 25 million, or Rigs worth a billion. That's all well and good. It's not for me. I can never go back to tossing potato chip boxes in lumping after drinking from the same cup as the Gods in that Medicine work.

What a story, if only I could be as blessed as you. Are pharma shippers open to fleets cold calling them with business?

In most ways you create your own luck as X1Heavy did. Just keep your eyes open and always be looking for opportunity. Note where he was writing down mc numbers and paying attention to what was going on.

I think you will do just fine though Elijah, you have asked some very good and unique questions over the last few months that I have saw. It’s hard to find people that think from certain angles that the masses don’t. It’s what will set you aside from the rest and be successful.

No they don't. I have top managment connections with two large pharmas and I still have to deal with their designated preferred shipping vendors if I want their work.

When you say shipping vendors, do you mean they use a 3pl?

Yes, they are qualified to haul the product and ingredients for the company, they can us external transportation sources.

In a pharma company there are a lot more things that go on with the GxP and policies to mitigate risks. FedEx for example has specific policies created to meet the needs of those companies, they do a lot of work for the pharma companies.

What I am puzzled by a lot of people here who say it is one way but actually lack knowledge on how companies work when it comes to logistics and the metrics they use to maintain their product flow. Too many assumptions are made about how loads get onto trucks and by whom. I have three direct contracted customers with exclusive contracts and every month I have to meet with them to discuss my company's performance and what problems there are so to meet their requirements. I also have to maintain a list of companies I deal with for the overflow work, I can't just stick it on a load board or broker it out, I have to call one of the companies on the list and work with them to get the product moved.
