That’s a flat out waste of money.

Now I have to ask, is this on a full size semi or a hotshot? Changing the air filter every 15k miles just seems excessive, unless you're working in a very high dust area with a lot more idle time than miles driven.

I find it easier to just drain into a 5gal bucket. Having done a few oil changes at loves, it's also easier and quicker to dump the buckets.

What I don’t like about the drain valve is it doesn’t catch small particles of metal that the original plug with the magnet does.

Use that for oil filters because they get messy.

get a fumoto valve, have it put on when you get an oil change, let the shop deal with the mess. Get one with a nipple. Get a 12 volt low volume oil transfer pump (hard to find but they are on the market) and the hoses to transfer oil from the sump into 5 or if you can fine a few ten gallon buckets. Setup everything, open the valve and turn the pump on.

A few minutes later you have an empty sump.

You can get a 55 drum, if you have a distributor near you, it is cheaper.

and you can use the oil in a used oil heater.

I agree. I haven't had a chance to look for one but I heard they're making a magnetic one now or one with a screen. Thanks for reminding me.

My original plug didn't have a magnet so I didn't think too much about it, but the pan has 4 ports: drain, heater, temp sender, and one extra that's plugged. Wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the regular plug with a magnetic one

My stuff is older, but I have three drain plugs, so I still have the benefit of the magnetic plug.

JoeyJunk I live in Washington. You need to get rid of your oil I’ll drop an empty drum off when it’s full I’ll switch it.
