what do you do (otr, regional) do u fuel same place every time brand wise or station wise give more details. when i was doing regional we used to fuel up at the same 2 fuel stops and i changed filters once a week until finally the company said no more and changed the stops
-
I have changed filters as often as every 200 miles, when I first got fuel at the loves bio fuel. went back to my other stop, & filter will last 25,000 miles.
-
I fuel at pilots and the hook I run otr but running east a lot

bad fuel is a very common problem. and even more common if it's bio. and if your fueling at the same place. that's probably your problem.
i once had a car. back when the carburetor existed. and had paper filter inside the carb. it was getting changed twice per tank full. and i wasn't gassing up at the same station. -
hmmm this gonna be a hard one to fig out what fuel stop it is. cuz i fuel at dif ones but non are really common for me.

If you've had some bio-fuel you've probably got algea in your tanks. Get some "Bio-Medic" at most any truckstop, will kill the algea but the dead algea will plug your filters even worse till its gone.
Dewey120 Thanks this. -
In the wintertime i change more times the fuelfilter ,when i do this i go to Speedco here i pay only 22$ and the instalation is free

Try the biocide. Do you have a Davco 382 or similar unit?
-
Get whoever changes your filters to cut one open and see what it clogging them. Black crud may be organic matter from algae and you would need to go the biocide route. Some drivers have had trouble with Cummins engines cooking the return fuel and turning into almost a tar like substance. If that is your problem you need to research a mechanical solution.
