Given all the praise I've seen from Hobby Lobby company drivers here in the past, I found it interesting that I observed a Werner tractor pulling a Hobby Lobby trailer east near Joplin.
Maybe it's a seasonal thing? But isn't that the way changes from well compensated company employees to poorly treated outside contractor drivers always happen? ("This will help surge needs today" turns into "This can save us milllions in the long run")
Keep your head on a swivel Hobby Lobby company drivers. Your days may ultimately be numbered unless you want to sign on to a fleece contract at a mega.

I was just at the Hobby Lobby DC in Oklahoma City.
It was gigantic.
Lots of different company trailers there. -
I know everybody and their brother hauls freight into the Hobby Lobby DC but to my knowledge, all of their store deliveries have been handed by company equipment and employees, until perhaps recently.
This was a Hobby Lobby trailer, leaving OKC headed for a store somewhere east, being pulled (powered) by something other than Hobby Lobby assets. But I'm sure I'm not telling their drivers anything they don't already know.
Returning home to the DC to see a Werner driver pulling one of your loads out the gate must be very disheartening.Last edited: Aug 20, 2017
Swiss Mountain Dog and tucker Thank this. -
LOL it would be akin to going on break at your fast food job and seeing a crate labeled "Automatic Burger Maker" from the ACME Corporation in Walla Walla, WA, that was just received and left in the storage room.

Other carriers have been delivering loads to their stores from the DC for decades
I did it for 4.5 years. The company I worked for had been doing it since the '90s. Our plain white trailers didn't advertise what we were hauling#1don Thanks this. -
Okay. My mistake. I've been out here a long time and never observed any truck other than a Hobby Lobby badged truck pulling a Hobby Lobby trailer.
I take back anything good I've ever said about the Hobby Lobby transportation side. I also didn't realize that cheap Chinese made crap was so "valuable".
Carry on.Swiss Mountain Dog Thanks this. -
Perhaps I shouldn't have said plain white trailers they did have our company name on the doors
Occasionally they would get the trailers mixed up and we would have to pull one of theirs for a trip. Not all of their trailers are rolling billboards either.
I only recall seeing Werner in there a couple of times but swift has trucks dedicated to them mainly lease purchase trucks Crete was in quite a bit as well.
I didn't either -
LOL... I drive for hobby lobby stores. Outside carriers pulling freight for hobby lobby or other private companies is nothing new. especially HL . Has been going on for years When you have more freight then you have company trucks or drivers, regardless of the company this is what you get. Maybe I'm wrong and hope I Am ,but I don't think HOBBY lobby drivers jobs are going anywhere soon. We are opening stores every day maybe HLdriver will come on here and refresh my memory of how many stores just this year we are supposed to open.
Tinman1, gsmith2332 and Crusader66 Thank this. -
Speaking of Hobby Lobby in Oklahoma..First time I've ever seen double 53's (maybe dbl 48'?) being pulled. Also a first for me seeing triples going down the road (different company )
