Truck It - Not sure how it works here yet, my local DMV is right across the street from the Patient First where I will get my physical so sounds convenient enough..lol.

Sly - I guess I have not gotten that far yet, I thought I would have to pay for my own DOT Physical.

I am looking at making the career move and giving Roehl serious consideration, still doing my research and all. Anyway, good luck and I will be looking forward to following along with you. I am looking more toward the later part of the year to make my move for a few reasons.... Thanks!

31hz - I will not be going to training till October as I have to wrap up things at my current job. From talking to my buddy that does trucking and reading alot of these threads I think Roehl will be a great start! I got an email yesterday asking for an accident report for an accident I had back in December 2010. On my application I put "at fault" (I couldn't remember...basically a car was stopped in the left lane on the interstate during wet driving conditions and by the time a came around the curve enough to see the car it was too late) but when I pulled up the information it showed "not at fault" so they ended up not needing the accident report.

I should know more sometime this week.

2 days of Roehl was enough for me.. If you have bad driving habits (Floating gears, Throttle Usage) FORGET THEM OR DON'T GO THERE !!!!

I think I made the mistake of going into it with a positive attitude & as a open minded new adventure instead of going into it as a job.. Thanks to everyone here, I had an idea of what I was getting into, but had to see for myself. Meeting & listening to the people responsible to getting you hired, MADE UP MY MIND !!!

Roehl is a Penny Pincher !!!! The limiter on the toliet paper rolls & how many times you use the elevator, as examples crack me up !!! Shifting with little to no throttle & lugging a truck in higher gears, Really !!! Other things I heard made up my mind & I heard the horrors of trip routing around tollroads here but once I heard it in person, I knew that Roehl's main concern is the bottom line. GUESS I NOW KNOW HOW THEY BUILD THOSE NEW TERMINALS !!! No guys older than 30 Years old in the shop??? Humm, tells me something... There is NO WAY I AM GONNA BURN UP HOURS SITTING IN TRAFFIC & NOT MAKE MONEY SO A COMPANY CAN !!!!! DEFINITIVELY NOT A PRODUCTIVE STREET FOR NUMERO UNO !!!

They tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door then all bets are off !!! I would much rather work a 40 hr job then work for a company that puts you in a position living on peanuts & burning you out just to say you have a job. You know your in trouble when you overhear your trainers saying they make more money driving than working to bring future driver into the company.. TALK ABOUT OPTIMISTIC OUTLOOK !!!!

Thanks again to the HONEST posters that gave me the heads-up. If you are a person that enjoys biting you tongue & doesn't mind the "Little Things" Roehl could be a good home. You need to make your own decision like I needed, UNLESS YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET!!!

But if you are looking at them as a career, DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB !!!!!!

Well ended up having to get a copy of the accident report from the state police after all, scanned it and emailed it in and got a conditional offer phone call and email within an hour. About 10 minutes after that received another call and got my DOT Physical set up for tomorrow morning at an urgent care center about 10 minutes from my house. I have been studying for the CDL Permit exam so once I get my DOT Physical card I will be good to take my CDL Permit exam, most likely I will take it on Tuesday.

My tentative date to attend the RDTC is October 8th!

Save your money on endorsements. Doesn't mean squat. Unless u want to go to Canada get your passport, or run hazmat here or there get your hazmat. Other than that its a waste here at roehl

coopnp - I was pretty sure I would not get to use Tanker or Doubles and Triples at Roehl, but since its only a dollar per year, regardless of how many endorsements I have, I figured I might as well go for it (Hazmat is the most expensive $85). My only concern would be if failing an endorsement kept me from getting my CDL, but my understanding is I just wouldn't receive the endorsement.
