I have a 1991 379 with the old style flat mirror and round fisheye on the doors. Im looking to swap these for something newer. Has anyone done this that could give me some insight?

The big mirror comes In several styles besides flat. You can go to the later style pete doors with the areo style mirror. You could make brackets work but then have holes to patch. But most drivers like older style. You can see better out of them.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Keep it old school
Toomanybikes, TGUNKEL and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
How about just changing them to the Aero style motto mirror with heat, i think they look better too.

Keep them on the door. It's easier to back up on driver's side when you can open door and move mirror to see around corners.

I have those mirrors now. Im looking for something a bit more modern.

Outlaw customs I think, sells a kit to change to cab mounted mirrors. I want to upgrade to cab mounted but it's a chunk of change and a bit of work

Buy a newer truck, a lot of guys would like the 1991

For those of you that gave good quality insight, I thank you. For those that just made dumb comments. Think first.
While waiting in line at the port I realized I could get a longer bar for the bottom and top. This would push my mirrors out a couple inches, but importantly, it will push them forward. I believe this is the fix. Ill have to look around to see what available. -
I definitely miss this!Oxbow, strollinruss, rank and 1 other person Thank this.
