I dont get the talk all u want stuff i keep hearing, i am not talking about something i havent done.. I do it all the time and will do it in the future. Its part of the job.. I do not know what circadian rhythm means or watever u say. U are a driver, if dispatch sends u a load then u need to plan out how ur gonna run it. Yeah it sucks switching sleep schedules, but according to ur logbook, to switch from one shift to the complete opposite the next day would give u over 24 hours off...if u shutdown at 5pm today out of hours and dispatch send u a load to pickup at 5pm tmrw, that is 24 hours off to get it together there should be no excuse
Changing shifts so to speak

Have you ever heard of the term micro sleeps?
The reason switching schedule was hard is because I was preparing for a day shift run (pre-planned) and they took it off me and gave me a night run again at short notice. Not much planning I could do.
I can run near 20hours on 5-6hours of sleep, but they are vital to me. I don’t mind chasing my clock (leaving 2 hours earlier then I shut down everyday) wake up 6am drive shut down at 4 leave at 2am so on and so forth I can do that indefinitely.
What I struggle with is staying up all day so I can sleep at night then being given a night run.
Or staying up all night and being given a day run. I cannot refuse or I’ll be routed “home”
Edit:The point is moot tho I just had enough caffeine to kill a donkey and powered through.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
