Amsoil.... Special barrel?? I don't know. Expensive?? yeah. Kinda. I'd like to use the stuff if I could. I'd also like it if my oil didn't turn dark too. Maybe a filtration system would take care of that..

I was too, but I kept getting viscosity loss that we could only conclude was shearing effect. Also the TBN wasn't holding up as well as I thought it should. Since i switched to the Schaeffer, have had really great UOA reports. Delo is a great oil. But my engine sure had issue with it.

But, I have always contended that engines and oils are like small caliber rifles and ammunition. You can take a reputable brand name box of .22 ammo and use it in a couple of well made excellent rifles from different manufacturers, and you will get different groupings. Nothing wrong with the ammo or the rifles, just that rifles have a preference for which ammo shoots best in them. Same can be said for engines. One person can get great results from brand X, and another owner gets so-so results. The trick is finding what works best in a particular engine.

We used Delo 400 in the rack, and used a lot of Shell 15/40, we did a test with synthetic oil in N14's, when they first came out, and it was a failure.
Oil is cheap, and changing it is the cheapest overhaul you will not need. Shell is supposed to be bringing out an oil that in independent testing by PDI it gave a 3% fuel savings.
    Just a thought!

Went down there this afternoon to get two buckets of 75W-90 gear oil. They said to call first to make sure it was ready, which made me curious. So got to walk around in the facility(not an official tour or anything) a bit & my buckets were just filled out of the tanks. Cool place, nice people & definitely old school.
