My ‘67 is #2 has been since new. The second new truck the family bought. #1 is my Great-Grandfather’s ‘51 Diamond—T. Anything we bought used was just numbered the year. They also because of tradition have their names painted on them too. I have since painted the class of year models on all of them in addition to the original number.

There is a little bit to the superstition tho. It goes back to WW2. My Grandfather was a Connie Pilot in The ATC in the African and Pacific theatre. He was connected through TWA and the USAAF. He always said the first crew of a new plane got to name her and nose paint her and that was permanent. Other crews would come along or if plane was assigned to a different unit and name and art were changed it was said to be bad luck and those crews would not make it back from missions.
