Trying to find someone to take me on with a new CDL and no auto restriction. I just completed the X and T endorsements. Outside of the 7 week community college CDL course I finished on 11/30, I have zero experience, retired from the airlines after 30 years and bored. Clean driving record, TWIC/HME.
Talked to Schneider and believe PTL is here, not so sure about flatbed at 60+, but I'm used to working hard and can still do it. I'd like home time, but beggars can't be choosers.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure what your looking for, but it was 8-5p that 7 weeks. Much of the time waiting for your turn to back as usual.
I'm now curious as to how the course hours impact my situation?Last edited: Jan 20, 2023

Eagle Transport, for example, requires a 200 hr. cdl school. So, you're probably good to go there.
~
Some companies don't care how long the school is and some have a minimum of 120 hr. or 160 hrs. etc.147Grain Thanks this. -
Understood, thanks. Very helpful

If you are located in NC---a tanker carrier that you should at least know about:
Foodliner --
Foodliner Locations | Terminals | Foodliner
Foodliner Truck Driver Training | Careers | Foodliner
They will train a new CDL grad, according to their website.

I'm a Schneider veteran.
Based on my experience there--you can do better, if you look around (like you're doing here on this Forum).
Go to Schneider.....only as a last resort.
