My truck is getting older and little problems are starting to creep up and I'd really like to have the software so I can diagnose it better instead of tossing parts at it. Also stuff like being able to do the compression test myself, and putting the speed limiter on when I'm going to go into Ontario.
But the official DD diagnostic link is a really steep ask, like $1000 a year.
Does anybody make anything cheaper with the same functionality? I already have the connector from when I tried to get a weird bootleg version going...
Cheaper aftermarket alternative to Detroit Diesel software?

Don’t worry about the Ontario part they stopped checking it at scales because they were about to lose a big case due to the way they checked it .. they only write speed limiter tickets at 115 km/hr as per the regulations. Keep it under 68 mph they never bug you on the 400 series highway.

Not going to support the greedy company grossly overcharging for the tools required to diagnose and fix their own crappy unreliable products. I hope stronger right-to-repair laws get passed soon and make all these companies release their diagnostic tools for free.
If I have to pay, I'd rather give money to a third party with no subscription fees. Or better yet, just pirate and bootleg the DDDL, 'cause f them.Magoo1968 Thanks this.
