No, I was refering to what a possible day could be like... without a little creative coloring in the book(matching up things and keeping it very plausable). I typically make much more than that depending on the load... I probably average $275-300 per day.

Just because someone logs time in the sleeper doesn't mean they slept and are rested. I've logged 10+ hours in my sleeper and not slept a wink. Course I'm on a 34 hour reset so I'll be sleeping soon. But I have logged 10 hour breaks and gotten less than 5 hours sleep due to eating, shower, laundry, etc. Even with the regs it happens.

I have fudged paper logs for a few extra minutes but now on eobr you can't fudge anything. In fact last week I got a 7 minute log violation while parking at a service plaza. I was at a shipper and my truck broke down. I guess the pos autoshift needed reset. Buy the time it was done the shipper was closing, I had to leave, and had 20 mins to go 9 miles through jersey traffic. I made it to the service plaza with 3 minutes to spare and while searching for and pulling in to a tight parking spot I got a log violation that I never would have had on paper logs. Next time as soon as I pull in I need to bring the truck to a full stop, drop to line 4, then bother looking for a parking spot and to hell with anyone behind me lol.

    Gotta love big brother.

I agree with you 100% but sometimes it's not the driver wanting to falsify to be able to make more money. It very well could be the fact that the driver works for a company that don't know how to plan a load or dispatch frieght to be picked up or delivered on time without falsifying.I run refrig. LTL couple of weeks ago had 15 stops in Atlanta area started making my stops @ 04:00 monday with the way the apointment times were set up I finally finished @ 16:00 tuesday afternoon with no sleep then the stupid B@*ch actually turns around and dispatches me on another load to pick up that same afternoon to be in the bronx thursday morning. Oh I so pray for EOBR"s. I know what you are all going to say I need to find someplace else to work. right? it's not that easy when you live in nowhere florida and looking for the criteria that I want and have as far as hometime and pay

dude if this is really the reason you got laid off because you wouldn't run illegal for them. If you have anyway to prove this you have a classic lawsuit.listen people take a word of advise from a 20 yr vet driver if your cell phone has the ability as mine does record every conversation you have with your company most especially with ur dispatcher

The idea that OOIDA will somehow be able to get you detention at every shipper is laughable. That is about as likely as a national FSC. I am not bad mouthing OOIDA, but what you are suggesting flies in the face of a free market economy. There is no way that the government will somehow regulate the terms of doing business between two companies.

If you truly wish to be paid detention, you should stick to running legal. Get every other driver to run legal. If you are unable to get a load from point A to point B because you waited 5 hours to get loaded you will get someone's attention. Companies will refuse to do business with shippers that detain their drivers and refuse to pay. Many companies are too lazy or intimidated by their customers to force the issue on detention. Refuse to drive beyond your legal HOS and you will force the issue.

    HoooHawhaha!...Jeez, I haven't had such a laugh in a long time!
All the goverment does anymore is regulate what each company can do when dealing with another company...
Need something screwed up? Get the government involved!

Its easier to regulate trucking than it is to regulate every company that utilizes trucking to tranport their goods. If you get delayed by a customer you should try to recoup some of your loss, but that is going to have a lot more to do with the contracts and agreements that occur before a load is booked.
