hi i have a 2012 cascadia with a dd15 i bought from penske. Had if a few weeks and everything was fine. Did a run a few days ago and suddenly my check engine light comes on and the "stop" light flashes on and off. If i drive for about 3 minutes they both start flashing and the engine shuts down. I have been byspassing the shutting down by using the engine shutdown override whenever they both start blinking.

Has anyone else had that issue? Im worried that it could need a new dpf, or at leasr a cleaning. Or could there be something else? Also engine seems to run just fine, maybe a little weaker at 35mph+. Please help!

Dude it most likely is your PDF filter. And if you have been using the bypass soon you will blow your motor. Hopefully you have only ruined the filter to the amount of 3k and not the motor to the amount of $22k. Good luck, and try reading the owners manual.

Could be anything really. Check your coolant level. If it's low that will do it also.

An ash clean request will not cause a shut down condition. There is something more severe going on. With no codes it could literally be thousands of causes.

Ok so i was low on coolant, but we filled coolant up. And now its saying "coolant temp is hot", they are checking it again to see what it is. Ive looked online so far people are saying it could be bad egr cooler or bad fan. Both seem expensive.

there's a reason those lights are there to warn you to check your engine it could be something as simple as topping up your oil or as complicated as a blown turbo either way you've got to get it checked out.

Don’t completely understand your post. Best I can tell it sounds like your DEF Pump has failed. Either wiring to it or pump itself.

If the lights are flashing. You should be able to pull a code from the display on your dash. Get it and it will narrow it down.
