Looks kinda bad I know. Yeah the factory put that big 53' on the left and right front. States like New York (there may be others not sure) require "53'" sticker like that or it's a ticket. Most of them are about 3' further back on the side of the trailer which would look better. The reason they put them kind of on the corner like that is that area is smooth with no rivets unlike the trailer sides. Rivets are a pain to put decals over and factory is all about fast and easy

I keep putting it off, but I really need to get company names on my trailers as well. It doesn't happen often, but we do drop our trailers once in a while at regular shippers we trust so we can bobtail home or just not be bothered with an 0300 load appointment if there's not a need for immediate departure.
It's worked great except one time a Werner driver took off with our loaded trailer. That was interesting.double yellow Thanks this. -
Yeah I know lol. If I run into a lot of that "Trailer # 53 sign here please" I'll peel the 53' off and move it back further on the side. I remember you telling me about the Werner driver lol. I see some of the abuse those guys (and JBHunt, Covenant etc, etc) put trailers through it makes me cringe to think if they ever hooked to mine. Luckily yours didn't come back with scrapes and dents. My old trailer had some Bill Hood scars on it lol

Mind explaining to a dumb Australian, What you get for the Extra $16,000 (in round figures)??? -
Hendrickson smartlift tandems +$3,500 and disc brakes +$2,500 were the only ones I'll miss. The other $10,000 I don't know on most of it. It would be easier to email you build sheets. Lot of specs. Thing is you just go thru it picking what you want to add. Dealer adds it up then figures the cost. Cost is not on the build sheet so really you need to ask on every single spec as you go. For me I just wanted to see. I knew it would be at least $40,000 and most likely not something I would buy because of it.
RedForeman and haycarter Thank this. -
Thanks for That,
Yep an extra 60% of what you've paid, for a Trailer that won't earn any more Money!
Is the reason that the success rate of most O/Os the world over is very low... -
I had a budget of $30,000. The more I could stay under that the better. As long as I got my bare minimum necessary specs all was good. I could not have spec'd one just like what I have with the smartlift and diSC brakes under $30,000. The smartlift would have saved a lot of fuel though. Maybe could have done it and kept drums to keep it closer to $30k.
