In a '99 FLD are there any check valves in the air lines to each of the four air tanks to prevent air from leaking back out through the dryer or compressor, or is the only check valve the one built into the output of my AD-9 air dryer? My truck has finally started to leak the air system empty after sitting for a couple of days, with no audible leaks. Time to go underneath with a spray bottle of soapy water.
Check Valves in FLD air tank lines?

Just in the AD9. I feel ya, bud. My '96 held air for years. Then she started with her incontinence!
Had a brass fitting crack under the dash. Also the trailer brake Bendix TC7 valve has a plastic body and of course it is cracked right at the threads for the line fitting. I put a smear of pipe sealer on it and it holds air good enough for now. Takes 2 days in the summer to drop to 60 lbs. 1 day in the winter.
Also those push in fittings are crap and leak when they get old. They just use them to put the trucks together quicker at the factory. My cab air bags line fitting leaks if ain't positioned just right.metric adjustable Thanks this. -
dang. here comes the soapy water, i guess.
I only have two audible leaks so far; one is an air vent actuator (yup, push fitting), the other is a 13 year old air bag that burbles in the rain.
at least leaks will be easier to find than rattles. -
I would soap the straps that hold the tanks on ,thats where I found my leaks
metric adjustable Thanks this.
