Hi All!
Am a newbie school graduate and get confused with all the information in comparing carriers (benefits, pay per mile, training location, the length of training, etc...
Has anyone ever created a list of great questions to ask right up front?
Would be much appreciated!

Do they expect you to sleep in a convection oven in Phoenix in summer would be top of my list.
Few months ago I saw a female driver at a well known carrier (I forgot who it was) taking a 10 in st George Utah late afternoon while the temperature was 105 and only forecasted to drop to low 80s that night. No discernible breeze. No APU. No idling. And I presume a company no idling policy.
SMH. Screw that.Last edited: Aug 17, 2017

That subject has been brought up on here many times.
Ask about accessorial pays which are pays for delay/detention, stop pay for making deliveries/pickups, etc. CPM (cents-per-mile) isn't as important as accessorial pays.
You'll get some further training at your first company, so be prepared for that and it's no big deal. The companies want you to hit the road with some knowledge about their procedures, customers, paperwork.
Which type trucking job do you want and how old are you? Trucking companies have minimum age requirements, but no maximum age limit.
@Snowshoes is from your area and has worked for a couple of companies in the area and will probably help you. He's with Pride Transport right now.
