Hi, do the Duncan guys get up north alot or are they pretty much like southeast regional? Are you usually in on Friday and back out Mon morning or are there lots of short weekends? I dont mind a quick 34 at the house every now and then but would want in fri out mon type of thing. Are there any 4 day schedules? Thanks for the help

best bet is to call Duncan terminal and ask them, I'm hardly ever down there, far as I know it's southeast regional with the occasional trip up 95 or 81. I've had a lot of 4 day weeks but as a new driver your best bet is to work hard 5 days a week, sometimes 6 or 7, and once you have some seniority start to take it easy some weeks. they value hard workers. Fort Recovery is my home terminal and I had to leave out 1 Sunday out of about the last 6 which was last week, but I woke up Friday 50 miles from home and was home at 9AM then left at 4PM Sunday. I request every weekend off and get 3 night weekends and 1 or 2 nights at home during the week most weeks.

Thanks for all the info you hve given to me. So, when you say that you request every weekend off, is that what you have to do to get the weekends off? I was under the impression that Cheeseman, for the most part, reset drivers at home on weekends. Thanks again for all the help. For equipmet, pay, and home time, i dont know if many can beat them.

I've been with Cheeseman since January and haven't missed a weekend at home. Some guys run off their re cap and others take a reset every weekend. Any time off I have requested has been approved, no problems. I do run alot of stuff I don't think some drivers want...short runs, local stuff. I think alot of trucking companies could take a clue from Cheeseman about how to treat their drivers.

    BFL123 and Lonesome Thank this.

I request Saturday and Sunday off so they know not to try to send me out Sunday night. they send me home automatically but it might only be for 2 nights if I don't request off.

    BFL123 Thanks this.

I haven't missed a weekend either and I have not requested them as I am still new. They did give me the option of taking a load to Duncan on Sat, or taking it home and delivering on Monday which I took home. This weekend is probably the shortest I have had yet, I got in Saturday 1pm but not leaving out until 8am Monday, so still not too bad. I was at orientation with 2 guys from Duncan and have seen both of them at Fort Recovery so they must get up here some, and I know I have spent quite a bit of time down around the Duncan terminal. I'm sure if you really preferred to run a certain area they could keep you there a bit. At least for right now I am running where ever and what ever they need as long as I get home on the weekends. Even with short runs the stop pay adds up. From what I expected coming in I could not be happier with the pay.

Heaton - any idea what the new pay package is going to be? I park my rig on 58, by Eckleys. Good luck.

1cpm base increase. stop pay increased to $16 FROM $10 (parts of OH,IN are staying at $10). Do you drive that Tanker I see there? I live in Greenville, but park in Grove City.

Yes that's my tanker. I have been hauling lube oil since June. I am fairly certain I will join Cheeseman in mid-January. I nearly joined Cheeseman in June, but thought I would try tankers once more. Be seeing you around.

Cool look forward to meeting you. We are in a great place. I go East alot, but also south and west some too so it's not ONLY east, but that's where most of the money loads are. No in cab cams at Cheeseman too. lol
