With the amount of highly trained hazmat teams in pasadena and la porte. I was sure there would have been a solution to this before it actually blew. They was so many water pumps ad other resources in west Houston just sitting.

I wrote a book of a response and decided why bother, but then got irritated and came back, then said to hell with it again.
All Ill say is that I cannot even begin to describe how naive this statement was.

Indeed, the inundation of rain is unprecedented, no one would have thought to plan, design and build for such a contingency as this storm. That being said, necessity is the mother of invention. Expect design and construction changes to be employed in future with such considerations in mind.

I'm very surprised that there isn't more plants in the Houston area that are ready to self destruct. First thing I thought about when the 50+ of rain hit. I was just down in Deer Park in may....very sad.

There's been trouble, it just hasn't been in the news much. There have been multiple forces stack releases, from various plants, that have alot of residents complaining of burning eyes and throats. I give credit to those operators and and personell that are working those plants to keep the possible mayhem to a.minimum

Exactly, I give all the credit in the world to the Leaders of the plant that probably HAVE to stay even if Death is certain.

That's why the average chemical plant workers makes $100,000+ per year. They have 2 stick around even when they know the plant is fixin 2 go booom!!!!!

As of tonight plant management and local officials REFUSE to disclose what chemicals exactly are stored in those containers and burning into the air.

Since the Gulf is so close it seems like the water would have already drained out to sea.
