    I was really lucky. I had a 2000, 3500, Cummins, auto that I worked REALLY hard pulling one of two trailers almost daily. One trailer was 16,000 lbs and the other was 21,000 (shh...) and the only problem I ever had was when the transmission blew a cooler hose right after a dealer service. As in... about two hours after I picked it up. So, the dealer made it all good.

    Mine was a shop queen for sure:

    -Torque converter
    -Shift solenoid/governor (x2)
    -Wheel seals
    -Complete front end
    -Sway bar links (x3)
    -Posi clutches
    -Water pump (x2)
    -Fan clutch
    -Transfer case seal
    -Radiator (x3)
    -Transmission cooler
    -All u-joints (x2)
    -Timing chain/cover reseal
    -Oil pan gasket

    It's a good looking truck, I like the tilt hood, probably designed for a certain segment, like horse haulers, who want that extra cab room.
    I think they will find out what Cat found out about having Navistar build you trucks. They build junk!
    If you want an IH, buy an IH! They have 4 door trucks too.

    The GMC TopKick and Chevy Kodiak never had these problems.
    I'd hate to be the guy pulling a 20000 lb trailer at 75 miles an hour hitting a pothole and having the front end Fall Apart.
