Chicago, IL - Photo Enforced Traffic Light

I had less then 30ft to stop. I went for it. The camera took 3 pictures, all from the side while traveling 35mph. I'm sure the company will receive a ticket and search me out. Question: I was told that Illinois law considers photo enforced tickets to be a civil offense rather then a traffic violation. Is this true, even with commercial vehicles?

Anyone else get nailed in Chicago / Burbs?
