I usually stay in Bolingbrook, Illinois at the Greater 55. It is pay to park. I think $12
Walk across the street to Fatty McGoos for excellent food and sports on tv...
The diner at the 55 is good too

 

Where You coming from and how close to the City You want/need to be ?

Oh hey umm mickey, Did they clean up that truckstop there on 53....Haven't cared to stop there in 15 years or better.....Was a 76 then it was blue/orange shield middle eastern owned.

Anyway- OP, Stay i In Gary, Your Best Bet. Dont try picking apart places to park right in Chicago- As we love our city- Hate to see you get lost ..Course, We have Way Better places to Eat and Drink other than a Truckstop- Where you can snug your truck up like a bug in a rug.

See,The wisconsin/minnesota trucks coming in stay north at the T/A's up there. If,Your coming up 57- Hit the Petro I guess in University Park, Idiots there, But itll work.

I consider Chicago as same as Chiraq. Combat Zone. No sleeping, no parking and ELD, Logs be ######.

Even more important... DO NOT publicly change, get or acquire money in any rest area. ESPECIALLY Highland. You already have 20 predators eyeball counting your loot that will soon belong to them before you get back to your truck and get taken out for it there.

There is a Shell gas station in Northlake that usually has parking available.

 

DMV off Mannheim Rd is not open on Monday. Sometimes I park there along the side next to the highway. Havent had a problem so far.

Try to approach so its a left-hand turn into lot. If right turn, split the lane.

The Petro thats like 40 miles south of Chicago is a huge lot. Should get a spot.
