I want to say that when I have asked a legitimate question in any form on this website, I have received constructive, professional and very helpful responses from the majority of drivers here. Unfortunately, I have also received immature, childish and asinine responses from some real dumb ##*es too.

To those of the former, I say "thank you," for your time, wisdom and not wasting my time too. :biggrin_25514:
I can tell who the real truck drivers are,and who are the men-children; and judging by the responses posted here, the women drivers that post are more of a man than some of these man-boys. NO offense intended towards you, ladies.

    Thanks again everyone

    Lonesome and Everett Thank this.

After you're here awhile, you realize which drivers are the ones that are really sincere and serious about helping wannabe's and new drivers, and which ones you should completely ignore.

And some of us are capable of both! Depending on the situation, I hope.

I preffer to give the childish (ie smart alec) response 1st followed by the real advice. But my purpose is to keep the OP's mood up by having a bit of fun along with the advice....:biggrin_25525:. I always loved it when a mentor made me chuckle at myself while learning.

I would hazard a guess that many of the female drivers here can outdrive many of the males.
They just seem to pay more attention.
This is just my observation though. They are in a male dominated field and willing to show that they have what it takes.
This takes courage, and I applaud them all. And stand up for them whenever needed on the road.

You will see the same people on the road that you do on this forum. Especially on the radio. It is a good tool, but you will hear many "tools" on it when around any large truck stop. These are the same people that are talking smack here.
They just feel they need an outlet for thoughts that go thru a brain that never matured past age 13.
Others like to help and teach.
My company does not train, though I think I would like too. One day I may just have to park the truck and go work at a school. Do not know if I will ever do it on the road.
So instead I give whatever help and advice I can here.
I think trainees going to schools that spend a few months here first go in better prepared than the average trainee.

ChromeDome, I thank you for your time and responses. Most of the topics I go into on this website have you in there helping a newbie out. I'll be honest; I've gotten a lot out of reading your post as well. It's nice to know that we (Newbie’s) can come here and get help/advise on what we need to do to be successful. I know that I still have a few months before I get on the road to drive and I intend to use that time to talk to all the experienced folks on this site. You folks are what make trucking still look appealing to us new guys... THANKS to all of you who help make a difference.

LOC... So basically you're saying that just because someone says something you dislike that automatically they are a bad driver? You're willing to judge a person from two lines written on a forum?

If you know anything about trucking, you know that truck drivers like to talk #####. It's kind of a job requirement. Those same people talking crap on the CB at you all day long are the same people posting here. Some people may be sarcastic, rude, or down right mean. That does not make what they say wrong. It may mean something simple like the question you are asking is so obvious a 3rd grader can handle it. It may be that your question has been asked 200 times (see felonies and hiring) and they're sick of people not searching the forums first.

This is a forum for grown men and women and if you can't take a little ribbing now and then, you may want to consider a nice safe job where no one will ever challenge you. I hear Starbucks is looking for new baristas...
