It's the Internet, you're always going to have some people posting nonsense, maybe they are bored, or maybe they are just asinine who knows.
I will say this site does more to keep things from getting out of hand than the other trucking forums I've visited. On the other sites most conversations last for about two posts, then it turns into a ######## session of sorts. I don't even waste my time with them anymore.:biggrin_25513:

    rookietrucker and Everett Thank this.

if you are complaining about the few off hand or humurous comments you get here--how do you deal with real life?

Chrome, that last sentence really does ring true. I've learned things here from you guys that made me better prepared in class. There have been times when someone would ask a question, either in class or on the truck, where I could tie in the answer to what I learned here and it made much more sense than just hearing a simple answer to a question.

I have to admit, I posted a thread or two along the way noting the 'hijacking' and other 'BS' when I first found this site, way way way back about two or three months ago! I've learned that the intention of the site was not simply information (as I originally had hoped), but a social environment as well and I've come to appreciate the mix. ...i also appreciate the insights I've gained here.

    Keep on!

If it was not a social site I would not spend so much of my down time here, neither would others.
We are all on the road allot of hours a month. We go home and most do not know or care about what we do. So we need other like minded people to talk to, vent with and bounce questions off of.
I think it is a very good site for that, and that we can help some new drivers out is an added plus.

Many people come here and only see the venting though, and that is too bad. They need to dig beneath the surface to see the whole picture. Kind of like people that want to drive a truck because they like driving their car and want to see the country.
Yes, it is a little like that, but not much. They have to dig beneath the surface to really see trucking.

I get accused of highjacking. I also get accused of childish responses. I've also helped at least one person. :biggrin_25525: And if someone wants to criticize me....then I figure we're about equal on the "being an ###" department.

However, what I do know is that notarps use to ride me like crazy before, during and right after I went to school. There wasn't a single post I made that he didn't toss some assinine bull poop at me about Swift drivers. He caused me to lose my temper, even cry on several occasions. I also came to respect that banana breathed, pushy, obnoxious monkeyman greatly and consider his advice to be greatly helpful. I class him with a group of about 4 on this forum as those I most greatly respect as drivers.

Sometimes, we need to look past our own little comfort zones. Sometimes it's ourself that needs to suck it up and change.

    Just a thought.

Being he doesn't drive anymore, does that put him in a class all his own?:biggrin_25523:

I have no friends and no life so you poor suckers are just stuck with me!:biggrin_25522::biggrin_2559:

You'll know when I've found both. You'll never see me again...:biggrin_25522:

Alot of us like to have fun but we still try to help as best we can. I've met alot of nice people here and I think someone even married a person they met from here!
