Well, thos should get some folks up in arms. Wonder how long before public opinion forces this rule to be changed or modified.
An Olympic controversy that we know will get you talking. China releases a list of prohibited items at the 2008 Olympics. The Bible is one of the banned items. The athletes will not be allowed to have Bibles at Olympic village. The holy book is joining video cameras and cups on China's list of items banned, all for security reasons.
China is still a communist nation and still a mostly atheist country. Olympic organizers are not only banning the Bible, but any kind of religious symbols at Olympic facilities in Beijing.

Zhejiang and Henan provinces, where the Protestant house church movement is particularly strong, suffered the worse persecution in the past year, according to ##. In 2006, 246 pastors and believers were arrested in nine raids, 10 were sentenced to imprisonment, and three churches were destroyed.
All of the approximately 40 underground bishops of the Roman Catholic faith have been arrested and jailed, placed under house arrest and strict surveillance, gone into hiding or simply disappeared, testified Joseph Kung, President of the Cardinal Kung Foundation. It's going to get to the point to where if you want to carry a bible then do it!
Screw the Olympics! -
They have a secret cardinal, who only the pope knows the name of.

With all of the concern about the Mexican drivers coming to the US and their adhering to our laws and rules in mind. Why wouldn't people going to a foreign country not have to adhere to their laws and rules?
What is the difference?
I am not against the bible, just being practical. -
This probably teaches the Olympic community a lesson about having an international event in a country like China.
