Think you are going to do this anyway but thought I would mention it...check the MPG's based on miles and gallons to fill....

BTW 2100 for those couple of days is not friggin bad at all....

Before you book a load check your miles with mapquest. The dead head miles on the load board are HHG miles. Right know your at $1.24 pm. Try to limit you dead head miles. Tx is good going in, but you are going to eat dirt coming out. What I try to do when I go to Tx is short runs for a week or two, then I bounce east doing short runs. I never had any luck in La, it's always heavy loads of paper, or sugar. Your doing fine keep up the good work.

Would u mind taking a picture of the bracket is mounted. I think 14s are different we have one long pad the top bunk rest on. Don't think this is feasible in the newer tractors.

Glad to hear you had a good first few days Sadwar, sounds like besides the APU the truck is running good and getting good MPG. I'll be interested to see how it does when you have it near max gross, hopefully it stays high. What kinda of gears are in the rear ends of your truck?

Since everything looked hooked up on your APU you're probably gonna have to swing by Thermo-King, or possibly Freightliner, I don't know if they are equipped to work on the TriPacs though. I've never messed with any electronic diagnostics on the TriPac, but I would imagine they can hook a computer to the unit and see exactly what the codes are and what is failing. Based on what you told me the other day on the phone I still think its something related to the oil pressure sensor, whether the sensor itself or something electronic that reads from it having problems. The fact that it starts up, runs for 5 seconds, then shuts down every time, sounds exactly like a low-oil-pressure shutdown. If it was a fuel issue, I think it would have tried to start a few times, then just sat there and cranked for 20-30 seconds, then thrown a no-start fault code. Sounds to me like its starting just fine, waits max 5 seconds for oil pressure to build, computer gets a bad reading on oil pressure and says NOPE and shuts it down.

You could of course try calling DFS and see if they have any ideas, who knows. Make sure you get this looked at before your 30 days of splitting repairs with SFI 50/50 is up, because if its something expensive that could be a really big chunk that SFI would pay off.

I'm not sure if this was the manual you downloaded from SFI's website or not, but here is the TriPac maintenance manual - http://www.autoexpeditor.com/tripac/TriPac_MaintenanceManual.pdf - even if you don't want to work on it yourself it has some very good information.

Amen to that, Ricky. I've found that most average / above average freight is regional. That means if you stay within a 5 or 6 state region in the southeast, you'll be fine. Same goes for Texas (Texas and Oklahoma being a region). Just about anything going into a region pays well above average, while anything going out of a region pays crap. So, what I do, (and I go to Texas about once a month and when the weather straightens out will head back to the midwest and PA / NY / ME) is kinda hopscotch out. So you'll get the 1200 mile shot into Dallas or Houston at $1.70, then you have to take the $1.30 to LA or MS to get out and then jump along as you go. Remember, if you did $1.70 on a 1200 mile run and have to pick up a $1.30 and run it 400 miles to a place that has freight, you're well ahead of the game (you'll be running $1.60 for all miles).

And again......two things. 1. If the load pays more than about $1.80, there's a reason for it (usually it's about capacity and availability in the market). 2. If you are tempted by $2.25 a mile, figure out how you're gonna get out once you get there.....before you go.

    good job sadwar

Here is a picture of my mounted TV looking down at it with the upper bunk folded out of the way. The single L bracket mount works great and it bounces just enough (like a leaf spring) to keep the TV from jarring when hitting a pot hole in the road.

Hello all I have been following this thread and DFO's since day one. I get the itch to run OTR again every time I read these great stories. My current job I've been at for 18 years is home every night and so easy with 0 drama that its hard to tear away from it. SADAWAR your APU might have a refridgerant leak. Mine did the same thing and one of the air conditioning lines had a bad O ring. The APU will run for a minute and then shut down and throw a code. Keep On Truckin !!
