Long day today. Waco to Dallas to Houston to Sisbee to Carthage....all in Texas. About 10 1/2 hours of driving. Got about an hour left to drive in the morning for my 8 am live unload in Shreveport LA. Nothing booked after that. Nothing looked good, will check during the unload. I got 43,000 in the box and my wonderful MPG gauge tells me I am averaging 7.4. Here's hoping!

Just another quality day here on the Choice program!!
Drove the 30 mins to Shreveport this morning to do a live unload on my scrap paper load. First truck there..scaled and got in a door. Another truck showed up, unloaded and left. No movement in my trailer. Another truck shows up, unloads and leaves!!! No movement in my trailer. Wait a little bit more. Wait!! I feel something. After three hours I was finally out of there. Don't plan on going back, unless the money is really really good!!!
The three hour wait there gave me plenty of time to pick some loads. Got a load from Mt Vernon TX to Mt Vernon TX. Pays $549. Weighs in at 36,000 lbs. Drop and hook at Mt Vernon and drop and hook in Cypress, will drop off after 7 am in the morning. Then I have a short 25 mile drive down to Katy TX for a live load at 10 am. Supposed to be a whooping 8000 lbs going 1050 miles to Loveland CO paying $1650. Should be a pretty easy run. Will be running right against my 70 hr clock though, might have 30 mins left when I am done delivering the drop and hook to the Wal-Mart in Loveland. Plan on delivering Friday night. Then I will have to take a 34 as I don't get hours back until Sunday. If all goes the way it is planned I will have grossed $3250 to the truck in four days of driving. Of course Denver area has dirt cheap rates getting out of there. And I'll need to pick a load up on Sunday as well!!! Better hit the load board and see what is up there!!!
Hope everyone else is running good.
Later......................Grijon, trucker43, scythe08 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Enjoy your week - you've been running hard with that new truck! Maybe you need a few hours of R&R...
I'm on enforced R&R. Truck's at the Freightliner shop now - they won't even be able to 'assess' it until tomorrow.sadwar Thanks this. -
Sitting here in Katy while they hand load my truck! Stacking Igloo coolers floor to ceiling for Wal-Mart. Gonna be a late night driving for sure.

Those igloos should make for a light load? -
My 14 hr day has ended. Took four hours to get loaded in Katy with 8200 lbs of Igloo coolers. Nice and light! Then I hauled absolute ###. Had the cruise set on 75 and still managed to get 7.2 mpg. I am bumping my 70 on this load, might have 20 minutes left when I deliver tmrw afternoon. Just enough time to get to the ts for a 34. Managed to get the truck cleaned up a bit and my sat radio antenna installed while waiting this morning. Got my first settlement for my first pay check tmrw. Cleared $925 for three days of work. This week will be much better. Time for bed. Night.......

In Denver look for a light load out of aurora going to okc load of cement form tubes cardboard weighs next to nothing just around the corner from frito lay and down the street from the hook.

I ran a load from Clearfield UT to Mira Loma CA then grabbed a relay out of South El monte CA headed to Virgina (on this now in AZ).. Sweet load! 23,000 lb pays out little over $4000...That's my 2 loads for the week : )Last edited: Feb 28, 2014

On the APU disconnect the plug from the oil pressure sensor and blow the water/ice out when they pressure wash everything it will have water in the plug causing it to shutoff because of no reading or out of range
