Back in the saddle again............
622 miles today. Stopped at the Flying J Exit 107 in Kenly, NC off of I-95. 341 miles left to my drop and hook in Aberdeen MD tomorrow.
I-95 was wall to wall Q-tips today. All of them migrating back home after spending the winter soaking up the Florida sunshine.
Getting four tires replaced on the trailer, Goodyear Commercial Tire right here.
Got pulled into the scale in North Carolina. After waiting in line for what seemed forever I make it up to the scale and see a state trooper standing there waiting to talk to me. WTF?!?!? I pull onto the scale (which no one is checking since no one was in the shack) and the trooper asks me 'How's it going?' 'Fine officer' is my reply. He asks me to see my log book. I tell him it is electronic. He climbs up onto the top step on my truck, leans into my window and says 'Show me'. I pull up the HOS tab and he asks to see the summary tab. I show him (still had 3 hours of drive time and just started a fresh 70 this morning). He says 'Thanks, have a nice day!' and climbs down. I go on about my business. First time in 18 months of driving someone checked my logs!
That is all...........

Good day today.
Up at 4 am. Dumped $850 worth of fuel into the beast and drove the 341 miles to Aberdeen MD. Nice and easy traffic since it was so early on Sunday. Unfortunately they had no empties so I sent the exception in and waited for the worst. Luckily I only got sent 20 minutes OOR and there were plenty of empties to pick from!
Drove the 22 miles to my pickup in NJ. Easy D/H. Then drove 50 of the 193 miles to my D/H in CT. Stopped at the Woodrow Wilson service plaza on the NJ turnpike. Will be up at 4 am to beat the traffic again to finish up my D/H in CT then 60 miles over to NY for a 200 mile D/H heading to PA. That will finish the pay week out for me.
Nice weather here, 55 degrees and sunny. Got the windows open for the breeze.
Take care......mickimause Thanks this. -
4am is late and traffic is building by the second....... Pack your patience tomorrow !
sadwar Thanks this. -
It's a crap shoot bud..you still have a ways to go..
What part of CT u going to?
Over the GW or the Tappen zee to 684/84?sadwar Thanks this. -
-
I'll pray for you..
The GW is like rolling the dice..plus u beat your truck to pieces coming across.
Just remember u can run 17 up to the tappen zee and over to 684/84.
Good Luck! -

TBH I almost prefer the GW and Cross Bronx over the Tappan Zee. Cruise in no problem to the toll booths, have a few minutes of excitement and then that's it you're out. Tappan Zee seems to drag on the excitement for way to long.
