My entire career was regional work either hauling steel or a tank. It is not bad. You can make good money and be home almost every night, but that last part may include paper logs and no limiter.

Awoke at four and drove the 300 miles for my drop at Walmart. Did not get an empty so I could drive the 90 miles to my relatives house bobtailing. Here now to take my 34. Sat morning I got a load heading to Savannah GA.
As predicted my check tomorrow is over $2300, best yet. Running less miles this week, hopefully less fuel but more money per mile. We'll see!Wheelwell, tynodine, Drifter42 and 1 other person Thank this. -
above boston and hartford is fine. tough to get to Burlington VT (2 lanes the whole way) from just north of Albany NY. Very pretty up there. Makes me wat to tour in a POV.

Thanks but no thanks.. Northeast sucks!!!!
tynodine Thanks this. -
That's how I view it. You say NY and people think of a big city, forgetting that upstate is actually quite rural. Seemed like all the loads I ran up there were drop and hook, and I was in and out rather easily.
I am curious though, whats the pay like for IC loads to and from upstate NY? If I make the jump to O/O I wouldn't mind running up there especially if the pay is good.
Pretty much this. i495 through MA kinda sucks, but if you aren't scared of a little commuter traffic it's not so bad. Plus it's only ~60 miles before you reach i95 in NH (or i90 if going south).
i84 through CT and NY is a mess no matter how you look at it, can't sugar coat that lol.
More freight for everybody else
rickybobby and Dogals right foot Thank this. -

Aboxofdonuts Thanks this. -
hummmm......what would the difference have been had you got a spankin' new Cascadia?? the KW I get......some other fool had to come up with the $5k down payment, but a '14 Cascadia is a different story. There couldn't have been that much difference in weekly payment
