Unfortunately no. There were no loads within 300 miles of Amarillo for pick up yesterday. Soooooo had to go with the best one I could find. Paying about $1.30 pm after the dh miles. The 300 miles BT helped as well.

I am no longer the 2014 Deadhead Master Champion, the torch is being passed on to you, sadwar. Good thing is you'll have plenty of room in that trailer for it.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Right? Sit in Amarillo and pray a load comes up, OR deadhead 400 miles and grab a good paying load? Easy decision in my business plan.

580 mile day today. Nine hours from OK to Denver. Windy but kept the cruise at 65 to help the mpg. 520 miles left to SLC tmrw for my 6 am live unload Monday morning. Then I'm headed to Sacramento and then finally to the house for some much needed time off.
    Relaxation begun.......

Did you look and see what was coming out of Amarillo before you book the load? I'm just wandering. I only deadhead that much, if I'm going home.

    how many times?????????

but, hey, it's your truck. Option "B" would have been to find a cheap motel in Amarillo, and wait for a day for a load....mighta found a coule of lonely hookers to spend some quality time with too. Everybody gets antsy for a load, ya just gotta be patient sometimes.

but, hey, it's your truck. Personally, anything over a 75-100 mile d/h sends me into a low level freak out.....but that's just me

    EggoTrucker and runningman0661 Thank this.
