Paying to haul freight is why rates stay low in areas. They know someone will haul it.

I understand everybodies post...but TennMan if you choose not to haul cheap freight, why put yourself in that area in the first place? Sadwar was trying to get home after a months time which is understandable(considering he lives in Cali but was running out east)..If i know an area will always have cheap arse freight, im not taking a 2.15 cpm load in that area, and have to deadhead 250 300 miles out! Doesn't make sense

I am not saying how anyone should run their truck. Sometimes you do what you have too. I understand and I'd of bobtailed too. Sometimes loads cancel and it sounds like he did right thing to go home I applaud him for doing it his way

540 miles today, from Denver to SLC. Nice drive across Wyoming, been a while since I've driven across there. Sitting at the FJ on I-215 at exit 27. 13 miles to my live unload at 6:30 in the morning. Then a live load at 11:00 30 miles north in Clearfield. I've been to this customer before as a company driver. Then I head to the bay area and then south to the house.
Walked across the street and had Chinese for my Easter dinner. Yummy!

Lucky dog! I went across WY last week and it was snow and ice! What a difference a week can make.

1050 mile load dallas to orlando paying 2.35 a mile=2350.00

Deadhead to TallaHassae to dallas,Tx 1300.00 on 1050 miles of which only 800 were loaded

3650.00 in revenue on 2100 miles of which 260 were d/h

    Make sense now...

Working smarter not harder. That's key for sure and this is a pretty good example of that.
