Choice program on the West Coast - from company driver to IC

I don't really care about bonuses, just want to be comfortable if I'm going to be 'owned' for awhile. As I mentioned, the company driver position is just a stepping stone to IC. (It surely ain't about the money.) I too would like to avoid 'certain areas', going 'out of route'. Just curious how strict Schneider is about this. What if you wanted to stop off and see the 'world's largest ball of yarn'? Do they allow time for this?

 

You should care because bonuses are becoming more of the paycheck than your straight pay. A lot of companies are doing that because they can legally take away all of a bonus.

 

I think you have to meet those certain criteria such as over speed out of route etc. for a certain period of time to make the switch to IC. Not sure on the particulars, but I'm sure some of the company to ic transfers can chime in to be sure.

Yeah I was checking that out earlier, im use to be a Schneider company driver and quit for a local job, now im thinking on going back but I want to O/O with the program that I chose my own freight, I need some i for and see what would u recommend me or advise me
