You would change your tune if you drove one of our trucks, especially in traffic. You do not have to drive it auto anyways, but seems like some just can't get that through their heads. Anyways the trucks are fantastic, APU/EPU's, extremely comfortable and nearly all are nearly brand new. But if being macho and driving a manual possibly foregoing the comforts of our trucks appeals to you then more power to ya Driver.... Our trucks do 68mph BTW which is faster than most companies that govern their trucks. You will get a good workout doing flatbed no matter which company you choose. Just make sure that you choose wisely and go with an outfit that will keep you happy for awhile, job-hopping every few months is a no-no in eyes of quality carriers. I wish you the best!
Choices choices choices!!!!

Yea I love y'all's trucks, I told the maverick recruiter I never seen a dirty one(by dirty I mean extremely dirty). A maverick driver came to my school was in there and had nothing but good to say about the company and even took me for a ride around the skill pad cause I was asking about the auto. I could see myself driving a auto just wouldn't want some companies to turn me down if I want to switch companies. I plan on staying with my first company for a good 5 to 6 years if not longer. It's just something about the T660 I like(I'm a Peterbilt 379/389 fan but I can see myself in a T660). Would you happen to be the driver that came to my school? It was in the middle of Feb. and had that flattop freight liner?
-
nope, wasn't me, although I have thought about stopping by someday.
-
Oh okay. I know a lot of my classmates was saying they was going to go to maverick. What's the worst weather you had to tarp in?
-
Name it. Have tarped in it. 120 degree heat. 30-40mph wind. -20 degree wind driven snow. Ice Storms. Torrential rain. and a few sunny and 70 days too.
critters Thanks this. -
tarping an oversize press in -10 ,snow, 20 mph wind and grease and oil from press
-
Darn lol that must suck. That's the only thing about flatbed I would hate. But sitting in the truck all the time would suck. What's the point to tarp it is raining? I think they should just allow you to wait til the rain breaks.
-
You can't wait if there are 45 trucks in line behind you to get loaded. In that case you are lucky to just throw the tarp up over the load a drape the load with it before you pull out and finish it up outside. That is how it usually happens. Sometimes you will luck out and get to stay inside to finish up. Depends on the shipper and how busy it is.
-
Oh okay. By waiting I was meaning like get on down the road.
