The question remains that if most of the drivers make their money during the season and don't take a risk to drive in the snow n ice, On top of that its the Holidays and there is big storm going on in the North East then who is picking this kind of loads for them. Or are they just bluffing. DAT say the market went up last week to over $2000.
Here is the post

I am not an O/O so bare with me... I see on the load details, the load pays $1000 for a 53' going 664 miles to PA got that. I am assuming this is a van load but, what is the 1500 on the calculator, is that your number that you would need to pull this load?
thanks -
The poster could just be fishing. If nobody calls, the price will go up.
-
I wouldn't do it for $1.50 No less than $1.75 but, I would ask for $2
-
what website is this exactly?
-
It's Choptank, so no surprise. That load probably doesn't need to move until Friday for delivery by next Monday. They're going to post it cheap and see if anyone bites. I'm surprised that it only has one stop, as Choptank specializes in combining LTLs for their shippers into one cheap multi-stop TL.
atrucker, it looks like you're confusing contract freight with spot market in your calculator there. You don't ask for FSC on top of the rates - it's rolled into an all inclusive rate. -
I take it than that his calculator number is what HE is asking for.
-
Shows you how brokers play the game ,found the same load on another board and the the rate is $1200.
-
The advantages of hauling cheap freight is it lowers your taxes!
