Hmmm, how much longer before these Revenue Enforcement Officers start going back to the old days of "making" items out of service? (Shanking tires, breaking taillights with a baton, etc?)
Things are getting a bit scary out there.

Thanks for your replies. It wasn't a set of scales - it was a rest area where they were doing a crackdown - with about 30 DOT cops down there pulling everyone in. Since I originally posted, I had the brake lights checked and of course there was nothing wrong with them. I'm with Landstar and they told me just to file a DataQ complaint.
Has anyone had any experience with the DataQ process? It seems like a useless battle, but I don't want to let this go either. -
When he wrote you up was it a ticket that you had to sign ? or a fix it statement? did you sign anything ? acknowledging that your brake lights were out?
-

That's some funny stuff there. Tell the one about your abduction next.

This was a level 1 inspection and I did sign it saying that I received the inspections, but I argued with him about the brake lights from the beginning. No DataQ experiences here?
-
I would have demanded that he get his supervisor there before I left.
-
Is it legal to video record the inspection?
