So which of you company drivers are staying out the entire month of Dec to get a whole week off in Jan.? (7 days hometime no pay, its not a vaction)
I know I am.
All company drivers who are available for dispatch on both Dec. 23 and Dec. 27th are entered in a drawing for a week paid vacation ($500)
With Xmas being on a Sunday, for those that stay out to run, they are going to try and get loads that run thru the house that deliver on or after the 26th. Its no garauntee, but your already getting the week in Jan by agreeing to stay out and run.
So concievebly, someone could stay out all of Dec, get home for a couple hours or days with a load for Xmas, get a week unpaid vacation, and a week of paid vacation.
As far as I can tell, if you request home time at Christmas, or anytime in Dec. you only get the paid vacation if you are available to run on both 23rd, and 27th AND your name is one of the 6 picked in the drawing.

JCW is staying out all Dec. But that was before he knew any of that stuff.
-
im staying out just because I got nowhere else to be.
-
Well, JCW has things we need to get done that require him to be home sometime sooner than XMAS, and his FM said pick one....so, he's home for Thanksgiving.
-
B4 they told everyone that I had already made the decision to be out thru "Xmas more than likely ill take 2days off a week or two b4 Xmas to get my winter gear and be out for a few months but I guess the incentive to stay out doesn't hurt didn't they offer 13wks with no truck payment to l/o trucks
-
Lease Op's available both those days go into a drawing for 13 truck payments in 2012.
-
Wait, is that 13 payments for one L/O, or 1 payment for 13 L/Os?
-
Hey how is the lease program from prime I'm thinking of going to there school to get cdl n maybe doing the lease program here that where money is...
-
Well, its not quite the original bonus that was being discussed. I had planned on staying out, but not now. Its safe to say I would not win anything in a drawing. 6 winners? What are the odds? As for the 7 day deal, no thanks. Sounds like a pay cut to.me. I'd rather take 4 days off at xmas and stay out all month in January. Home for the holiday and 3 extra days pay.
No complaints though, they don't have to offer anything. And the 7 days may appeal to some, even though its nothing but a pay cut to me. But I'm guessing it was decided that they really don't need to entice any more drivers to stay out than the drivers who were staying out anyway. And the original bonus may have caused traffic jams and a freight shortage. -
The way I read it is 13 payments for the 12 L/O's that win.
