Problem here is experience, most O/O's insurance companies wont allow anyone under 2 years experience in a truck, especially if you have a bad driving record........ Let me rephrase that a O/O who has a low premium and a good but cheap ($$$) policy.

What it boils down to driving for someone, anyone, is will the insurance accept you to drive , I have worked for an outfit with a driver I wouldn't hire, but they did, and I'm very forgiving. I have come to realize there are people driving truck that have no business driving anything bigger than a child's toy.

There are probably some places that would be willing to take a chance on you, if you care to look. Read the papers and ask around.

Gotta admire your comitment to the business but getting your own insurance and driving someone elses truck doesent work like that, they provide the insurance on their equipment. If you actually did pay the insurance with the experience you have and after you got paid you wouldnt see much money.

I was going to say something to that effect. But you gave him more than i would have, like would have to find a second job to pay for it.

Bigrig11, Search around and see if you can find one of the larger companies to hire you. get some experience and then start looking to get out on your own. Can it be done with no experience? Yes but very very hard, but it been done, and not recommended. It look to be easy but as someone said on another forum 3000 companies has gone out of business this year in the Industry, more to come.

    Good luck

If you could afford insurance you could afford your own authority . Google hotshot forums . Not all hotshotters use pickups . Many use single axle sleeper tractors .
