Thank TNPRIDE1066 for the comeback. they are still at top of my list. I went and did a road test today for KC Transportation but i do not think i will take it. They are UAW workers but the starting pay is only 32cpm and they could not give me any info on the union at all not even what the dues are lol.

If their was a pension i think i would do it, But as far as they knew they only had a 401k that matched up to 700.00 a year (kinda cheap if you ask me) seems like a nice outfit though just not worth i dont think for me unless they can get me home more.

About 7 years ago for me ...

You will run Canada, and a lot of red-eye back to back Detroit-Wisconsin.

    Lot's of steel coils.

Too heavily invested in auto - particularly Chrysler IMO.

Required trucks to stay in 21st st. terminal when at home (maybe changed if live far off).

Loads of miles when auto is good - pay-cut when not.

Lots of Temo Sunrooms to the east coast.

Every weekend off if you live near the city (or plant), required drivers to "call in" on days off to keep updated on loads.

Been with them nearly 2 years, things have changed many drivers have jumped ship. If you live near metro Detroit, you will go to Canada several times a week and wait for a broker load out. Sometimes losing 20 hours for 300 miles. Otherwise Belvidere, Il or Spartanburg, SC. both with long waits for reloads. To make any money you have to fudge logs. Thankfully they don't have e-logs yet. I believe they are struggling. Down to 118 Drivers. Temo loads are only to an elite few as are the few remaining dedicated lanes.

Churchill is under new mgmt now. Jerry's two sons Randy Churchill and Joe Boyle have taken over leadership. Their customer base is expanding and have made a couple positive changes in dispatch, employee morale is good now. Good carrier especially if you live in Chicago Detroit Atlanta loop.

    Call them and ask?
My guess is they are a 1099, so after taxes that would be more like 0.30 - 0.40 mile. That would make it much more in line with the area...
