Sorry you had a bad experience, but you didn't do your homework. I'm hauling sand for a sub contractor for Haliburton and I'm doing fine in West Texas
I would NEVER do a man camp. The horror stories are everywhere. I work 14 hour days but I still go home every day.
I'm grossing $1,800 a week and everyone says it's kind of slow right now. I do 2 to 3 loads a day, when the 2 crews we follow finish wells we get helper well loads. I've got 1 load a day twice and both times I got 3 the following day to make up for it.
There's a big line where I'm waiting right now, but that hasn't been the norm. If the well goes down that's just the business. My detention time starts after 3 hours and works out to $48.60 an hour.
I've found everything to be perfectly fine. This is after coming off long haul for 9 years. I wouldn't discourage anyone from coming here as long as you do your homework.
