I emailed mine too. At a time when they weren't taking walkins because of covid. 2 months later they emailed me back. About a month later I had to show the cop my license. He didn't say anything. So that confirmed to me it was done.

I've always taken mine in straight from the clinic except that one and only time. With all the stories on this forum. I'm not risking it.

I email mine every year, but there's a website in Texas where you can check the status of your license. I give it two days then go online and enter my information, and both times it's shown the updated medical card.

Granted I've only had two DOT physicals, but it's worked both times relatively quickly.

You are right. I did email the prosecutor all the evidence with date dates:
    - new medcard (again prior to being suspended)
    - cdl reinstatement receipt from IL DMV

He agreed to not seek full charges (upto 1 year in jail and fine $1,000 afaicr) but just fine of $200 and plea guilty or no contest. And you are correct, they will refer the verdict to Illinois State of Secretary and they would decide what to do with it. That’s the part I’m worried about would these records appear on his CDL and subsequent repercussions on insurance premiums or coverage at all. Asked him if he is willing to reclassify it to lesser charge but he says USDOT would not allow him because he could lose federal funding for highways (I don’t believe this).

So, yes, you are right, I could solve it with $200 and $70 court fees but don’t know if there’s more trouble after it.
