First day out training.. I'm in a Western Star - Training went well... I've -never- driven a truck like this.. total greenhorn..
Spent 3 1/2 hours today driving it around rural roads - learning how to double clutch shift and float.. ground the gears a few times of course, completely missed gears - trainer said I have lots of promise tho and wants to put me on a trailer tomorrow after a couple refresher runs.
We're supposed to get snow here tonight - so this will be fun.
Anyways.. here is the truck.. I'll have this one and the same instructor all the way through.
-
Great! So they are teaching both shift techniques, nice.
I start Nov 14. -
Looks like a pretty nice truck to learn on!
-
leave some teeth on those gears for me to abuse!
-
And don't break the clutch brake
lol
-
there are 2 decent shape KW's sitting beside the WWS - a few more on the other side of the yard.. I won't break it too much for you, and if anything that old bus is available.
Have you got your class 1 learners and airbrakes yet? -
How many speed transmission? 10?
-
Can't get airbrakes locally till the 7th of November that's why I can't start sooner. Got the learners a while ago.
