I am looking at buying a new truck to haul our 22,400lb 44' Long Toy Hauler. I ran across this YouTube video and didn't know how accurate it was. Figured I'd ask the experts. Would it be better for me to get a 2017 F450 pickup or a 2013 Volvo Class 8 with 400k miles?
CLASS 7 AND 8 Trucks for RV hauling?

Don't get the MaxxForce engine or you'll be sitting on the shoulder of the highway more than driving.
Check these heavy duty pickups: lilbigrig is the website.Last edited: Mar 22, 2017

I say he is pretty much on. The insurance is gonna be higher on a semi tractor. I know a buddy that bought a 2 axle bobtail and wanted to use it for freight deliveries and pull his toy hauler. His insurance said you can't do both. You either use for business or pleasure. If it was me, and I had your money.....lol..... I would do the pick up truck way.

My neighbor has built 3 RV
haulers, brown & tan is his and the red one is the latest he built for full time RVer's. The 3rd one, the guy hauls a smart car on the deck between the sleeper and the trailer.
My neighbor uses his for his sand car.
