I am trying to think outside the box in considering my future in trucking.
What kinds of jobs can you all think of that where driving is just part of the equation?
I have experience ranging from retail and banking to construction and auto parts. Sales jobs like Coke, Pepsi, and Scwanns are the obvious ones, but what else could I do?
I'm not really enjoying Over The Road like I thought I would and am considering a different part of the industry. Any thoughts??
Class A CDL along with other types of work experience?

Service truck, towing, landscaping/nurseries (depending on the size & scope of the operation), hydroseeding, construction equipment operation, tool vendor- Snap-On franchise for example, farming, grain/feed store, logging, I'm sure there are more.

Look for a job in a private fleet where you make 10 to 20 deliveries every trip and back home for the week end. You can make a fair wage and get to meet the customers and make friends at the same time. I did this for almost 10 years and found it to be enjoyable work while driving 1500 to 2000 miles per week with drop pay. I'm not talking about LTL or local delivery where you have no time to spend a few minutes with customers.

I worked for an exporter. Always had plenty of trucks to move back to FL and went all over the country. Made me glad I had my CDL as lots of stuff the other guys couldn't drive. Along with the trucks, I drove school buses, old transit buses, bascially anything that rolled.
Drove a garbage truck from NY state to FL, that was fun.The Challenger and Trekker1 Thank this. -
Could always try the blue and white china wagon
