Do any owner operators team up with inexperienced drives.
Seems like it would benefit you if you can handle teams.
You get all those extra miles and you could pay someone like 20 to 30 cents per mile for some given time frame.

I drove flat beds for Ploof in the early 90's got out of the industry and I am now looking to get back in the game. I know I am crazy.

I am actually having a difficult time finding a job even through driving schools. It seems like everything is a scam.

there isn't any good jobs for people with no experience. And no experience is what you have. it's the way the insurance companies work be it right or wrong.

you have to bite your tounge and take a job and it's gona suck. Sorry. no way I'd do it personally. once you get a year experience a few more doors will open and after two years the good companies open up to you

CR England hired me. I start on the 22nd. $500 payroll deducted for Refresher course. 6 weeks of steeply discounted labor called training. Beats the hell out of $6000 that MTC wants. And then of course you still get do the the discounted labor called training. Don't get me wrong I think 6 weeks of training is a good thing. If I was tight on the money though it would suck a big fat wanker.

On-the-Job Training with a Certified Over-the-Road Driver Trainer: In three to four weeks and a minimum of 15,000 miles, receive on-the-job training with a certified trainer. The pay of $61.43 per day equates to $430 each week.
C.A.T. Program (Career Advancement Team): In three to four weeks, become a second-seat driver with a C.R. England lease operator to gain your "company driver" status. During this time you will see how the C.R. England lease program works and will gain more valuable driving experience. At an average of $450 to $600 per week, you will earn 12 cents for every truck mile.

The training pay sucks but it is better than paying $6000 for a truck driving school which I am not to sure that would get you away from the crappy training pay. The refresher refresher cost $500.00. Also you need to currently hold a valid CDL A.

trust us. you will come out of this much more then $6000 in the hole.

the worst part of it starts when you are contracted t work for them till your training is paid off and thy jerk you around by the short hairs because there is nothign you can do about it. Ask them how much you will owe them if you don't fulfill your contract term. plus do the math between the pay rate at say 100k miles vs what you could make somewhere if you paid for your own school. It's more then $6k right there. Do you really think they are doing you a favor????? CRE is one of the worst in the industry and there lease deal IS the worst in the industry and considering they are all bad that i REAL bad.
If you just can't afford school then there is still better ompanies to get started with. Look at schneider. they won't make you a millionare either but at least they are somewhat ethical in there practices
