    Hi All!

Im a brand new cdl A license holder with a TWIC, and haz, tanker, and doubles endorsements. I have no experience yet however. I am NOT afraid of being OTR or hard work in the least. I was considering going flatbed since I've been told those drivers earn more. But with my endorsements, maybe it'd be more lucrative for me to go tanker?

What do you guys think? If you were a new inexperienced driver with endorsements and a TWIC, what would you want to haul and for which company? I was initially thinking TMC since I've heard good things about their training and pay, but maybe you might have some different suggestions? I heard schneider is good for tanker, too.

Thanks for any input, and happy and safe new year!

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Go tankers if you want the easy money and good paychecks for your whole career.
Put your location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in.

Schneider Bulk does have a top notch reputation for tanker training.
    There's also:
    Trimac Transportation
    Superior-Carriers
    Tidewater Transit
All the above hire new grads.
Here's some that I'm not sure if you're in the hiring area:
    McKenzie Tank Lines
    SVTN
    Girton Propane Service

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Perfect. I'm still finishing up my active duty time and will be out in about 12 more months. I figure i'd get a jump on things though. Do you think schneider would require a refresher course from me prior to hiring?

Just don't let Schneider talk you into leasing a truck.

Hell yeah! Thanks HotH2o! Is there a big difference in earnings in flatbed vs tanker?

Also, you guys ever hear of brother truckers taking their harleys out with 'em on the road?

Yes, be prepared for a refresher course.
@ethos was a trainer at Schneider Bulk and now works for Trimac. He's a straight shooter and can fill you in on both companies. You won't go wrong with any I listed though.

They will require you to have some sort of refresher course. The recruiter I talked with a couple months ago ( I have a CDL but never did anything with it, zero practical experience) told me that they (Schneider) do not actually offer a refresher course, it is something you would have to have done on your own before going to their training. It will require having a letter from wherever you go for it to prove you have had it before they would move forward.

He could not give me any specific requirements on how many hours or if any specifics should be focused on other then that it should be no less then 10 hours. He said that going into their training as a new driver they don't expect you to know everything but they do want you to be comfortable with the basics of shifting and whatnot and have them fresh in your mind.
