Define morbidly obese. I kinda doubt that any 'morbidly obese' person could pass a physical anyway. But you can't look at somebody and say he is 'seconds away from a heart attack' when for all you know his heart is in better shape than yours. No, it's not me

There is such a thing as HWF (Healthy While Fat). Being fat in and of itself does not mean you are unhealthy. There are lots of overweight people who have no health issues whatsoever. To lump them all into one category is beyond absurd.

Where do you live where these 'morbidly obese' drivers are dropping dead with regularity?

I will admit I am overweight. Have been most of my life even before trucking. Im 6 foot even when I first started trucking I weighed 325. Im down in 260s. At my last physical I was told I was borderline for sleep study. She said if I lose about 10 more pounds by next year (med cert is only 1 year because of diabetes) that I will be below bmi and not need to take one. I actually lost weight driving a truck. So it can be done.

Concentra is making a fortune off of the trucking industry. That is why the have those really nice, two story medical clinics sitting on prime real estate.

Seriously, there is never less than 20 to 25 drivers waiting when I show up.

The last time I went in there, the first thing they did was hand me a clipboard with one piece of paper on it.

There was one question on the paper:

Have you been to Africa the last 60 days? (Checking for Ebola, I presume.)

If I had been to Africa, I sure would not tell them. They would probably haul me away, and quarantine me somewhere.

I volunteer no information to those Big Brothers of the trucking industry. It is no, no, no on all of their nosy little questions.

I am actually in very good shape. I do a medical every year because of my diabetes. I also have 4 labs run a year. Two my company totally pays all for as part of there wellness program and two I just pay my deductible.

I wouldn't consider the flat bed driver I was referring to is maybe a little obese, it also has a lot to do with neck size somehow.

concetra is such a scam its ridiculous.
I will never go there unless I was forced to. they are owned by doctors who know the system and know how to run up a bill. they refereed me to a hand surgery I did not need. absolute idiots in that company, if you ask me.
