I spent some time in IT school at college. It was a revelation. Programming to me was the big rocks into little rocks which I hated very much. Servers constantly needing feeding and repair. Never mind the people who need mussed feathers soothing and petting. And god help the network that wont stay up.
I discovered I enjoy building really powerful machines, but also that new found love is gone the way of the dodo bird when everyone goes to cell phones for the latest in gaga... ugh. I finally got out of there. I did a couple middling presentations which upon review revealed how little i knew and how gracious the class was with that pile of BS... and managed a little bit of goodies here and there. Im glad I went, but it's not for me.

You can try the defense companies like Sikorsky and others who are always looking for people with both. I and some of my drivers used to work with a couple companies hauling stuff in box trucks and such.
By the way they don't advertise these types of jobs. YOU can't go to some website and find them. YOU send a resume and if they need someone like you they call.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I stayed at a Secret Holiday Inn Express last night.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

Years ago I hauled for people I didn't know, (gov)things I didn't know(boom). I was required to go through armed guard training and if you refused to stay 25 feet away from the truck while I was fueling I was supposed to shoot you, wild huh. I was required to have a top secret security clearance. There are still companies that do that. Landstar is one , Tristate is another.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

Secret to millennials, put a bean bag in the break room and they are the happiest people on the planet. They didn’t give me much problems except they would never answer their phone.WesternPlains and NavigatorWife Thank this.

Af far as top secret load hauling, even most companies have rules when hauling high-value loads, and you're really not supposed to discuss what you are hauling on a regular load, just in case someone wants to knock you in the head.
Chinatown Thanks this.
